A review of policy strategies around the world

In the second of three reviews, our authors studied policy strategies from around the world from a WISE perspective, providing a thorough analysis of diverse perspectives and ways in which countries and regions understand the different WISE dimensions in their local and global context.

Results

The results indicate that Beyond-GDP approaches have not been widely integrated into policymaking thus far, whereas the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a more prominent framework in the Global South. Through the WISE framework, the authors also showcase the different conceptions of the WISE dimensions, such as wellbeing and its relationship to growth.
